We are back!

It has been 10 months since the last post on ThiefCraft. Sadly not much information was available over that time so there wasn’t much need to keep the site updated.

Now with public beta just around the corner it is time to start the site back up again. Watch this space.

Personal story – Thief perspective

Thief personal story
When you create your character in Guild Wars 2, you are able to personalize the background story of your character. There are a number of race related questions, and one profession specific question.

In my line of work, it’s important to understand the power of _.
	Anonymity – My talents lie in the art of stealth, infiltration, and escape. I do not draw attention to myself.To protect my identity, I hide my face behind a mask of darkness.
	Tenacity – I mean business. I’m the bruiser, the muscle, the bear you don’t want to poke. My headband keep my vision clear, no matter how physical I get.
	Subterfuge – With a well placed word or the flourish of my cape, I turn your attention where I want it. I am the master of misdirection and intrigue.

I’m not sure how your choice affects your character or if it unlocks a different ability.

A point of interest from the screenshots is the display of initiative being tracked above the left side of the action bar.

As the first major content update to the site, I have added all known Thief abilities to the Thief Skills page:

• Twisting FangStrike your foe to inflict bleeding, vulnerability or weakness.This skill doesn’t cost initiative.
• BackstabLeap at and strike your foe, more efficiently from behind. Costs 3 initiative.
• Dancing DaggerThrow a dagger that Cripples multiple foes before returning to you. Costs 4 Initiative.
• Cloak and DaggerStab your target and then use Stealth to slip away. Costs 6 Initiative.
• Body ShotBlast your foe and make them vulnerable.
• Leg ShotCripple your foe with a shot to the leg. Costs 4 initiative.
• Retreating ShotFire a parting shot at your foe, then evade to a safe distance. Costs 4 initiative.
• Head ShotDaze your foe with a shot to the head. Costs 7 initiative.
• Crippling SlashSlash and Cripple your foe.
• Dancing BladeLeap to your foe and strike, before evading backwards. Costs 3 initiative.

• Help Me!Call for help from allies. Makes you invulnerable for a short while. 20 second recharge.
• StealSteal an item from a foe that may be used as a weapon.

Welcome to the new site

The purpose of this site is to collect any and all information relating to the Thief profession in Guild Wars 2, from basic guides to advanced theorycrafting.

For now I am just getting started. Expect design changes over the next few weeks.
